A school project for Academy of Art University
Poster Design, Experimental Typography, Movie Trailer, Visual Narratives
This project explores typographic form in a new way through the interpretation of dreams. The dream state can be a terrific tool for generating unexpected results. The project was a series of posters promoting a movie using type and dream imagery.
The movie that I choose is Equals. The story is about two people who fall in love but cannot tell anyone about their secret relationship. So they try to escape from their dystopian world. I used water, glass, and stencil type as the raw material. Water conveys an organic and exquisite feeling. Glass represents transparency and ambiguity. The shape of the letterform blends with the water with the reflection of sparkling glass. I used black and white to convey the feeling of equality, intimacy, and mystery.
